Noerenberg Gardens… free public gardens on Lake Minnetonka's Crystal Bay… beautiful grounds and formal flower gardens on the former estate of the founder of Grain Belt Brewery… popular wedding site… reminder of quiet elegance of days gone by…
Eloise Butler Wildflower Garden and Bird Sanctuary… the oldest public wildflower garden in the nation… when you enter the 13 acre site, you quickly forget you are in the middle of the city… the inscription above the entrance gate, "Let nature be your teacher," reflects its beginnings back in 1907, when Eloise Butler and three other botany teachers in Minneapolis successfully petitioned the Minneapolis Park Board to create a natural botanic garden
Lyndale Park Peace (Rock) Garden… this garden NE of Lake Harriet was originally called the Rock Garden because of ancient rocks in the garden… now features The Spirit of Peace bronze sculpture by Caprice Glaser, which helps visitors learn how to fold an origami peace crane… Pathway to Peace, a series of 7 stone sculptures with words representing the meaning of peace… the Peace Garden Bridge, designed by MCAD professors Kinji Akagawa & Jerry Allan in zigzag construction so evil spirits cannot follow people over the bridge because evil spirits walk only in straight lines…
