Not only does Edina’s Centennial Lakes Park offer free daily concerts and entertainment Monday-Thursday throughout the summer (including Thursday night movies), they also have a backup plan in case of bad weather. If it rains, most performances move from the Maetzold Amphiteather to the nearby indoor Edinborough Park amphitheater, which hosts free concerts throughout the winter!
Centennial Lakes Park is a unique 24-acre suburban park with more than 1.5 miles of paved pathways meandering around a 10-acre lake lined with townhomes, condos, restaurants, shopping and business services.
In the summer you can rent paddleboats, fish for sunfish, bass and bullheads, watch remote control boat races, explore the maze, play the putting course or enjoy the croquet and lawn bowling courts. In the winter, you can skate on 10 acres of carefully maintained ice.
The Centrum building is a great place to warm up by the three fireplaces in the winter or cool off in the fountains in the summer… and it is also a great banquet and meeting space. We know from personal experience… our son and daughter-in-law held their wedding reception here!
