Welcome Dinkytown Farmers Market… the Twin Cities newest mini-market!

Welcome to the Twin Cities’ newest mini-market… Dinkytown Farmers Market, launched by University Lutheran Church of Hope at the corner of Southeast 13th Avenue and Southeast 7th Street in Minneapolis last Wednesday, July 11, 2018. This mini-market will continue on Wednesday evenings from 4 to 8 pm every week into October.

Opening night of the Dinkytown Farmers Market was a great success, and I am reminded of it often as we eat what we bought… I just had some luscious homemade raspberry rhubarb jam we picked up on my breakfast toast! Come by each Wednesday for more fresh produce, homemade jams and community!

Farmers markets have been growing and growing for decades… for good reason. Farmers markets are wonderful spaces for building community, supporting local agriculture, and tackling food insecurity in our community. Food insecurity is a major concern among college students, with one study finding that nearly one-third of students had experienced food insecurity in the last year. As members of this community, it is our hope that this market can provide fresh and affordable produce to a community who needs it and continue to expand our vision for porous walls at ULCH.

See you there!
