City of Crystal’s Bassett Creek Park… great neighborhood park with Frisbee golf

It was a gorgeous fall day and we were out walking, trying to find the west entrance to the bridge over Highway 100 near the Duluth Street exit. We were on foot on the west side of 100. We never found it on foot, but later found the entrance in a very remote location! Bridge to nowhere? Oh well, it provides safe pedestrian and bike passage over busy Highway 100.

But, we had a very beautiful amble through Golden Valley and Crystal. We wandered through the City of Crystal's Bassett Creek Park, saw some great landscape and wild life. Herons were in the water, other birds were plentiful. Some guys told us we just missed seeing a hawk or eagle diving to the pond and taking a fish and flying off! All this within half mile of Highway 100!

We ran into lots of people on our walk, some on the picnic tables, some just out for a stroll in this amazing, hidden away city park. Kids were  on the playground. Then we come across some pretty focused Frisbee golf players. Here's a game for everyone, for all ages.

Wikipedia defines Frisbee golf, as a flying disc game, as well as a precision and accuracy sport, in which individual players throw a flying disc at a target. According to the Professional Disc Golf Association, "the object of the game is to traverse a course from beginning to end in the fewest number of throws of the disc. The Bassett Creek Park Course offers a beautiful setting for a challenging 12-hole course. Rolling hills and great landscape.
