Latest and Greatest

We just finished staging a town-home in Burnsville.  This home had been on the market for 1 year.  When I walked in, I found a very clean well cared for home that might make you wonder why it hadn't sold.

The first thing I noticed were the walls painted with white glossy paint.  Clean, but not warm feeling.  The second thing I saw was wood paneling on several walls of the home.  Nice wood, but very dated.  And lastly, all the windows were covered with vinyl vertical blinds.  Again, dated and not inviting.

I suggested that the Home Owner paint my favorite color, "softer tan" throughout the house…..including over all the paneling.  She really did like the paneling, but painted over it anyway.  Also, at my request, she installed knobs on the kitchen cabinets and entry closets and removed some of her furniture.  So over one weekend, when she was finished, she felt like she had a whole new house already!

Then we came in for a day and a half, staged the house with a little of our furniture, a couple of comforters, accessories and nice window treatments.  Wow, the house turned out so well!

The Realtor that had the house for the last year said "you can stage if you want to, but if you don't want to it's fine".  One year later it was still for sale.

Her new Realtor said "your house could use some staging" and she was right.  The Home Owner loves the look and so will someone else….this house will sell.
