It’s common (and wise) for buyers to ask questions about a neighborhood where they are considering buying, especially when they have never lived in the neighborhood before. Even if you have lived in the area before, some sections can feel very different from other parts of the community.
Keep in mind that every home has a buyer, so it’s not a question of whether it’s a ‘good’ neighborhood or not…it’s a question of whether the neighborhood is a good fit for you, and only you can answer that question.
This is a good time of the year to be buying with that question in mind, because the neighbors tend to be more visible…out working in the yard, chatting with other neighbors, kids out playing, etc. I encourage buyers to walk neighborhoods that appeal to them, and start conversations with people you see out and about. It’s a great way to get to know the area and the people who live there and can help you decide if it would be a good fit for you.
