Millennials and Baby Boomers are the two largest generations, and while Millennials delayed settling down longer than previous generations, they are now buying homes, establishing roots and growing families.
At the same time, Baby Boomers are retiring, selling their homes and making moves that reflect their changing needs. More and more seniors are moving to be closer to family. In fact this trend even has a name… Baby Chasers.
This is a generational shift, as the older generation follows the younger generation. Zonda research shows that 25% of Baby Boomers plan to retire near their children and grandchildren… a trend to which I can personally attest as I work with buyers and sellers moving in and out of the metro, many driven by the desire to live closer to family.
