I was surprised when I read an article from realtor.com this morning that stated that this is the best week of the year to buy a home in three US cities… Los Angeles, Houston, and Minneapolis!
They stated that now is the “perfect storm” of optimal conditions…
- Many buyers are still on the sidelines, so there’s less competition
- Sellers have been making price adjustments to offset higher interest rates
- Sellers may be more willing to negotiate to avoid holding their home over the winter
- There’s a buildup of inventory, so buyers have more choices
I don’t know that I would go so far as to say that this is the best week to buy, but I do agree this is a good time to buy… and with many people focusing on things other than buying a house as we lead into the election next week that adds to the “perfect storm” making this week an optimal time to buy!
