In this time of competition over a shortage of homes for sale is staging really necessary? Read below what a recent seller thought… before and after…
My wife and I are selling our home. This was an unexpected sale as we are relocating back to PA due to a business opportunity. We bought this house just last year and put a lot of love into it. Sharlene suggested that we use a professional stager.
Personally I thought it was a bad idea and was against it. I figured it was too expensive and we already were barely going to break even. I also didn’t understand why anyone would care. I mean who buys a house based off the furniture in it that isn’t even their furniture.
Sharlene was persistent and assured me that buying a house is an emotional decision. This staging will invoke an emotional reaction in potential buyers. In the end she convinced me to do this. I was leery but figured we would try it. The stager came in and the design was amazing. Heck I wanted to put an offer in.
Over the first weekend we had 29 showings and 4 offers in a very competitive market. Best of all not a single offer was for asking price or less. Every offer was way over asking.
I truly believe that this only happened because the staging gave a buyer a vision of their life in this home. Truly an emotional reaction that brought us a much higher offer than we expected. I am so happy I ended up doing this.
