I had the privilege of representing a new mid-century-modern listing that hit the market last week. It is a stunning property and the sellers worked hard to make it shine. It didn’t stay on the market long. It was in coming soon status for a week, and the day it became active showings were a revolving door from 7:15 am until 9:00 pm! We held an open house over the weekend, and more than 50 groups of people came to see it.
Offers started coming in the first day on the market. The seller reviewed twelve outstanding offers and accepted one after only 3 days on the market.
Regardless of the market, this scenario isn’t that unusual for outstanding mid-century-modern listings. I represented a buyer who submitted an offer on a mid-century modern a few weeks ago and she was one of the disappointed ones. However, I have also helped other buyers who were successful… Two mid-century moderns sold in one week… both designed by renowned architects!
If you are searching for a mid-century-modern, be prepared to act quickly with a strong offer… and also be prepared for disappointment. Unfortunately, only one buyer’s offer can be accepted for a property. It requires patience and sometimes expanding your thinking to search for mid-century-modern elements… Searching for Mid-Century-Modern homes in a limited market
