The Saint Paul Winter Carnival is the oldest winter carnival in the United States, started in 1886… this year celebrating 136 years! It is hard to believe the 10-day festival ended today, February 6, 2022.
I stopped to take a look at the ice sculptures last week, always amazing. I think my favorite this year was the ice bench with a bird perched on its corner. At least the temperatures are cold enough this year that I think they will last a while!
Over the years they have created over 30 ice palaces for the carnival… check out the history of the ice palaces for some amazing photos!
If you didn’t make it this year, check out the many events to dream about for next year!
