Baskets – For Selling or Dwelling!

I love baskets! When I am assisting sellers in getting their home ready to go on the market, baskets are a suggestion I bring up many times. The same is true if I am on a Redesign Consultation There are so many different kinds of baskets and so many places they can be used.

A perfect place for baskets is your closets. You know that stack of T-shirts that sits on a shelf and they always look messy? Line your shelves with baskets and put those messy items in them. That way it is easy to slide the basket out, grab your garment and go. This is a perfect solution for making your closet tidy when selling.

I recommend the collapsible bins a lot. When you are packing up to move to your new home they fold to not take up space and you will always use them in your new home. I love using mine in my walk in pantry to hold the little items that are always falling over like rice packets and chocolate chips.

Another common problem area whether selling or dwelling is children’s toys. You would like to have the toys handy for your children in your family room but not strung all over making it feel chaotic. Baskets again are a great solution.

And of course……a must in a child’s room.

The best part is there are so many cute baskets out there now! Many times I suggest adding a basket by a fireplace or in a corner of a room to add texture. It is such an easy accent piece.

What trouble spots do you have in your home that a basket may be just what you need? Here is one of mine.
