We recently met with sellers of a 1960s house with vintage electronics that made me smile. The owner was an electrical engineer and it showed!
When we first saw this on the on a wall near the ceiling we expected it to be a smoke detector. But no… it was a heat detector! Interesting forerunner to today’s smoke detectors!
The daughter of the seller said her father was an electrical engineer and she could just see a bunch of engineers sitting around, thinking of electrical devices.
He also created a television using a Heath kit… which is still in the wall of the basement family room. She said they watched the 1969 moon landing on that television.
But we aren’t done yet… this home also has a vintage 1960s Frigidaire Flair range with pull-out cooktop, a favorite with mid-century modern  aficionados. It looks almost brand new… and it still works!!
All for today… more to come on occasion. Send me pictures of things you think I should share!
