It can be a big challenge to find an affordable townhome in a walkable community with easy access to downtown. Golden Valley’s Hidden Village is a small townhome community near the intersection of Highways 55 and 100 that fits that criteria. Unless you go down Golden Valley Road between Douglas Drive and Highway 100 (which most people don’t) you probably don’t even know Hidden Village exists.
The complex borders Bassett Creek and the lower village has patios overlooking the creek… the upper village is near the outdoor pool and party room. Built in the late 1960s, the 62 units all have the same basic floorplan… main level kitchen, half bath, living/dining room… upper level 2 bedrooms with big walk-in closets and bath… lower level family room and utilities, a bonus level not found in many townhome complexes. All units have a patio, some walking out on the living room level and some on the lower level.
When I first walked into a creekside unit in this complex the views of the creek from all three levels amazed me… how did I not know this complex in this beautiful setting even existed! Because they were built in the 1960s the units are old enough that some have been completely rehabbed… and some have not, giving the opportunity to design the space you want.
You may not think of this as a walkable location as you drive by, but the original Byerly’s and a Walgreens is only about a 15 minute walk away in one direction… bus stops are only a few blocks away… and Golden Valley City Center with coffee shops, restaurants, post office, library and a weekly summer farmers market is a 20-30 minute walk in the other direction.
Want to learn more about Hidden Village? I have a creekside listing coming available soon… contact me to schedule a showing, Golden Valley is a great community!
