Should you make an offer? Some questions to help you decide

couple-boxes

We are getting into a slower season, but it can still be nerve-wracking trying to decide whether to make an offer on a house… especially when it is a multiple offer situation, which can happen in any season. Last weekend I witnessed buyers agonizing over making an offer on one of our listings as it went into multiple offers.

Are you trying to decide whether to make an offer on a particular property? What terms should you offer? Here are some questions to ask yourself as a reality check after you have gone over its pros and cons, evaluated how it checks off your boxes and fits into your financial and personal future, etc…

  • How would you feel if your offer is accepted?
  • How would you feel if your offer is rejected? (often even more telling)
  • Would you be satisfied to stop looking and start packing if your offer is accepted?

In this highly competitive market you often have to make important decisions very quickly. Your body often knows before your mind does whether or not a property/offer is right for you… listen to what it tells you.

If you find yourself involved in multiple bids, ask yourself again how you would feel if your offer is accepted? Will you have any regrets about your offer?
