One of the things I love about the Twin Cities is how we play host to so many quality events, embracing everything from sports to the arts. This was an interesting weekend with basketball and crafts!
An exciting time for basketball with the NCAA Final Four Championship was in town this weekend. Loads and loads of people downtown, East Town and around town. It was exciting to, again, show off our city! We got a real treat to watch the NCAA National Slam Dunk and Three-Point Championships at the Target Center with our daughter and grandson. Talk about hoopla, got it – HOOPla. Watching these athletes perform was awesome. Strength, practice and skill were simply remarkable. And one thing I especially noted in those athletes was the pride they felt for their own college! When the camera went on them they presented their college jerseys. Pride in their colleges was what they displayed – not themselves!
Also in town this weekend was the American Craft Show in St. Paul 2019. St Paul River Center was, again, a grand host to this annual show. The show displayed some fine creative crafts – from pottery, to wood shaping, to clothing, to furniture, to jewelry. The talent on display was amazing! Sharlene found a wonderful new mug and we purchased some Minnesota shaped cutting boards to give as gifts. We’ve found the work of Longshadow Woodworks of Little Falls, MN to be artful and strong. Come see how art and craft work together. Ingenuity abounds!
