Things to love about the Minnehaha neighborhood… from someone who lives there

I think of the Minnehaha neighborhood as one of those hidden, affordable residential gems nestled between lakes, creek and river, parks and parkways, LRT and highways, both Minneapolis and St. Paul… and close to the airport without a flight pattern overhead. The dots on the map below are restaurants, shops and coffee shops. Did you know there was even a private zoo in Longfellow Gardens at one time?! Minnehaha… great first-time homebuyer Minneapolis neighborhood on the LRT that once was the home of a zoo

The best way to learn about a neighborhood is from the people who live there. I have a new listing in the Minnehaha neighborhood of South Minneapolis and here is what my seller has loved about living there.

  • Close to running trails (and best dog park in the metro!)
  • Lake Nokomis nearby
  • Walking distance to the Blue Line, with easy access to downtown Minneapolis, the airport and Mall of America
  • Next to Minnehaha Falls Park
  • Great restaurants (see dots on the map)
  • Central location with easy access to both Minneapolis and St. Paul
