Checklist for Showing Your Home

When I stage a home, I usually leave a checklist of what things need to be done before its shown.

Here's a quick list to get you started…….add whatever else needs to be done for your circumstances.  You can't believe how much this helps you remember the small things you don't want to forget when you have a showing!

Before All Showings:

Open all curtains and blinds (unless your Realtor advises otherwise)

GetMedia(1)

Turn on all lights and lamps

Close garage doors

Make sure all toilet lids are down

Clean off the kitchen counters

Make sure there are no dishes in the sink

Lock up all pets (or take them with you)

Pick up Children's toys

Remove everything from the bathtub area (shampoos, razors etc)

Put away irons/ ironing boards

Pick up the laundry area (no dirty clothes in sight)

Make the beds

Buyers won't stay in a house that's too hot or too cold, so make the temperature comfortable

Allow potential buyers privacy as they view your home.  It is best to leave altogether, when there's going to be a showing.

Remember to add to this list so you don't forget anything you need to do before a showing!
