Selling in Fall

I've done a post about selling during this time of year, and with Halloween is coming up (yes, it's true….summer is gone), and it'd getting colder, I thought I'd post it again this year.

Selling in Fall means LOTS OF LEAVES and IT'S HALLOWEEN!!

 Fall

As I've always said….Less is More when it comes to Staging.   So, my best advice for October selling is to rake, rake and rake some more.  Clean up your landscaping so that it looks neat.  Curb appeal is everything and can make the difference between a Buyer walking in to your home or simply passing it by.

It's also a great time to look at the condition of the outside of your home.  Without the pretty green landscaping, more people are going to notice maintenance issues.  I just noticed that we needed to repaint an area of our trim.  I walk in to our house every day and really didn't notice it before!!

Also, check the front door area especially.  It made need a quick coat of paint or at least a good cleaning.

We all love Halloween, but when you're trying to sell, keep it clean and classy.  I love some of the decorations that are out there…just don't make it overwhelming.  These are too much!

You don't want a Buyer to focus on the leaves, dried landscaping, maintenance issues or Halloween decor….you want them to love your home.

You can still enjoy the Fall season and have your home on the market….less is more!

  1. Home staging is a great opportunity to show your property in all its glory, but every season has its challenges. Fall, for instance, means dried leaves scattered across your lawn, so pay close attention to your landscaping if it needs maintenance and cleaning.
