The first time you go to Good Day Cafe you may wonder how anyone finds it, tucked at the end of a dead end street behind a big office building next to I-394. You have to have the destination in mind to get there… but once you get there you realize it must be something special because it is usually packed!
You can order take out, pick up some small gift items or sit at the counter, but most people wait for the dining room… and yes, there often is a wait but most people think it is worth it.
During the week you can tell there is a lot of business being conducted over breakfast and lunch in this cafe. The noise level is high, but that is part of what makes it a good place for business… it is almost impossible to hear conversations taking place at any table other than your own!
Portions are large, great for sharing or taking some home for another meal. I still associate them primarily with breakfast, but they are open for lunch and dinner as well. It gets mixed reviews, may depend on taste and what you order and how you feel about the noise level… I have had good luck with breakfast and soup/salad lunches. I measure a breakfast place by whether their orange juice is fresh squeezed… it is. Great eggs benedict (try the crab)… unique Iggy's breakfast sandwich with avocado, filling but delicious… egg dishes with their signature potatoes… homemade granola… huckleberry pancakes…
