Happy Valentine’s Day!

I've been writing this staging blog every Saturday for quite awhile. But today, I'm not going to write about staging….sorry…..I'm going to write about MY Valentine and what he did this week.

We were working on a house in Robbinsdale this week.  My Husband, Keith, left the house to come home and had to cross Country Road 81. It's a pretty busy highway with speeds of about 50 miles per hour.  As he pulled up to a stop sign, he noticed a small boy (about 3 years old)  running towards the highway and directly in to traffic trying to cross the highway!

Keith knew he couldn't stop our vehicle, unbuckle and get out fast enough to prevent the little boy from the traffic.  So instead, Keith gunned the gas, caught up to the running lad, drove beside him pulling out in front of all the cars coming both ways, trying to protect the boy so he wouldn't get hit.  He was honking his horn and yelling at the traffic.  I don't know how they both made it across the 4 lane highway, but they did.  Cars were screeching their brakes and cursing at Keith, until they saw the boy.  Thank God, absolutely no one got hurt and there were no car accidents.

People stopped and were stunned.  The boy had no coat on, so someone held him and used their coat to protect him. While everyone waited for the Police, Keith went back across the highway and looked for a Parent who may be outside looking for their Son.  No Parent, but Keith saw a backdoor on a house that was wide open.  He stopped at the house and knocked on the door.   A Man said he did have a Son, but that he was sleeping.

When Keith described the little boy, the Man realized it was his Son and Keith drove him back to the scene.  The Police arrive and everyone was fine….Keith drove the boy and his Father back to their house.

So this is a very happy ending, but I wanted to write about it because this was very emotional for both Keith and I.  Keith saved a life this week…I know it.  And this little boy was fine because MY Valentine cared enough to put himself in harms way for the sake of another.

When we think about what could have happened if Keith wouldn't have been there at EXACTLY the right time, we shudder.

So, do I believe in Devine intervention??  If I didn't before, I sure do now, because someone put a caring person like my Husband Keith there at that exact moment to protect a 3 year old boy….and reminded me again how lucky I am to have been married to Keith for 35 years in April!

So Happy Valentine's Day!
