It Has To Flow

I'm working on a house right now that has been on the market for 18 months.

It really is a nice spacious home, but my first impression walking in was that it didn't "flow" well.  The definition of flow is "move freely from place to place"….and that's what's wrong with this house.

When I stage, I seem to use the word "flow"……a lot…..I guess it's my "feng shui"…..but the one thing I've learned staging is that the house has to feel right.

When you tour this house, you see some rooms full of furniture and others very sparse.  The Home Owner doesn't live there anymore, so she's moved some things out.  The home is exceptionally clean, but has different colors throughout.

I could continue, but I think you see the point.

I thought that most of the house should be painted, but the Home Owner doesn't want to invest the money…..so, I'm doing everything I can to make this house a showcase…..

AND….make it flow!

I'll be done with the house by Monday and I'll post some pictures next week!

  1. Hi there,

It sounds like you know about feng shui, so I’d be curious to see what enhancements you make. I notice in my listings if I put a jade plant in the wealth corner, some coins under the Welcome mat, and then symbolically even out “missing corners,” these listings sell quicker.

    Good Luck!
