Staging….It’s Important!!

Cindy Thomes and I (Jeri Pischke) are Certified Home Stagers and own Tender Heart Transitions.

The definition of "Staging" is simply to prepare your home for sale.  The way you live in your home and the way to sell your home are two completely different things.  When you get ready to place a home on the market for sale, it becomes a product…..and just like any product on the shelf of your local store, it has features and benefits, pluses and minuses…AND there are other products to compete with!  Sometimes it’s difficult to think of a home as a mere product, but it helps to consider it as such in order to get top dollar for the home and sell it in a reasonable amount of time.

In this marketplace, Staging is critical.  Light updating may be necessary.

Statistics show that a home that has NOT been staged, sells in approximately 161 days…..93% of Homes staged by Certified Home Stagers sell in approximately 30 days.  Certification is key to assure the Stager has been completely trained in understanding what it takes to prepare your home for sale.

Next week we’ll write about Certification.
