Affordable condo living or great rental investment

Location! Location! Location! It’s the mantra when looking for a home. Only problem is, so often the best locations aren’t affordable. Westmoreland Condominiums in St. Louis Park are an exception. Nestled next to Excelsior & Grand across the street from Trader Joe’s in the Wolfe Park neighborhood this is a location that can’t be beat!

When I stopped by this afternoon to drop off showing supplies for 4530 Park Commons Drive #213 I noted how busy it was at Trader Joe’s… and thought about how great it would be to simply walk across the street to pick up some groceries for dinner and not worry about parking!

This complex was built in the 1960s so is much more affordable than the condos built in the early 2000s for Excelsior & Grand. It may not be as ‘fancy’, but it’s well built and a great value, well cared for by an onsite caretaker.

In the words of a current resident, “It’s a close-knit community where neighbors tend to know one another by name. Don’t be surprised if someone slips a “Thank you!” postcard under your door, stops to introduce themselves, or invites you to join a community gathering. There is a genuine sense of neighborliness here that has developed over many years.”

Long-term rentals are allowed, but a little more than half of the residents are homeowners, with a number of long-term residents who have lived there for more than 20 years… including one owner who has called the building home since it first opened in 1966!

Check out unit #213 at 4530 Park Commons Drive in Westmoreland Hills Condominiums… whether you call it your home or own it as a rental investment, it is a great opportunity!
