I am always on the lookout for a neighborhood brunch/lunch destination and when a colleague suggested meeting at Heather’s on Chicago Avenue just south of Minnehaha Creek in South Minneapolis I eagerly said yes… and was not disappointed! They have tables in their smallish but bright indoor space, with high ceilings and big windows that make it feel spacious… and they even have a walkup window where you can pick up bakery delights as well as your online order.
But in the summer the biggest treat is the spacious covered outdoor patio that invites you to sit and stay awhile… which is exactly what we did last week… it was delightful!
Their changing menu includes breakfast until 2:00 pm; salads, sandwiches and burgers all day; and changing dinner specials every evening after 4 pm. We both had their Summer BLT which was fabulous, although I wished I had a hinged jaw to easily get my mouth around all that goodness!
