Silverwood Park is a Twin Cities treasure, a 68-acre park that was a Salvation Army Camp from 1922 until 2001, when the Three Rivers Park District purchased it and redeveloped the site as a regional park dedicated to creative interactions connecting people to nature.

With miles of hiking and biking trails offering spectacular views of Silver Lake including a bridge to the island, this is a wonderful place to enjoy a peaceful nature retreat regardless of the season… and perhaps go fishing or canoeing or bring a sketch pad or enjoy a family picnic.

Visit the changing art exhibits on display in the visitor center gallery, grab a coffee from the cafe, and take in some of the wide range of activities and events offered throughout the year for all ages from preschoolers through seniors… with creative classes including clay, printmaking and basket weaving… even yoga!

Located just minutes from busy freeways with easy access to both Minneapolis and St. Paul, New Brighton is a great community to call home. It is also the site of the first owner-occupied townhouse complex in the state… Windsor Green, with 34 park-like acres located right across the street from Silver Lake and Silverwood Park.
