Art-A-Whirl, the largest open studio event in the country, is this weekend… plus a list of over 20 more Twin Cities Art Fairs this season

Minnesota is known for its thriving arts community, and nowhere is it more in evidence than in our numerous summer art fairs. They seem to start earlier every year, with the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden Art Fair launching this year’s season last weekend.

Art-A-Whirl, the largest open artist studio tour in the country, is celebrating its 30th year this weekend throughout Northeast Minneapolis.

Over 1,600 NEMAA member artists, galleries, and businesses participate across all of Northeast Minneapolis at 100+ locations. Free and open to the public, Art-A-Whirl is a fantastic way to connect with artists in their own spaces, enjoy demonstrations and interactive activities, listen to live music, and enjoy local restaurants and breweries.

The granddaddy of them all, the Uptown Art Fair the first weekend in August, celebrates 50 years this year… now renamed SoMi Art Fair, it is now taking place at Bachman’s Garden Center on Lyndale in south Minneapolis.

Check out the list below of more art fairs throughout the metro this year… we have visited most of them, you will not be disappointed!
