The Lowbrow is a friendly, neighborhood restaurant in the south Minneapolis Kingfield neighborhood committed to bringing scratch-made comfort food to your plate using locally farmed, sustainably grown ingredients. Known primarily for their burgers and beer, John had a burger but I decided to try their Basil Walnut Pesto Pasta the first time we visited it about 10 years ago… and it has been haunting me ever since…

…so much so that we made a special stop there on Saturday so I could see if it was still as good as I remembered it… it was!
Saturday was the day of HANDS OFF! marches throughout the country. Some people came in bearing signs from there march and were happy to chat about it. They said it was so crowded they couldn’t hear much, but it was good to be there… later learned about 25,000 people turned out at the state capitol!

I love the colorful mural at The Lowbrow… love the casual atmosphere… love the menu… people just keep coming back to this comfortable neighborhood hangout.
