With so many Baby Boomers downsizing, new one-level townhomes are in high demand… but where can you find them? Builders are recognizing this demand and responding with many new developments featuring all living facilities on one level… sometimes with a basement, sometimes slab on grade.
To get an overview, I did a search for townhomes currently ‘Active’ or ‘Coming Soon’ in our MLS with all living facilities on one level… ‘Completed New Construction’, ‘Model’ for sale, ‘To Be Built/Floor Plan’, or ‘Under Construction/Spec Homes’.
A total of 167 properties came up, mostly in Minnesota with a few in Wisconsin. In the Twin Cities, most are outside the I-494/694 loop. The link below can at least give you an idea of what is currently available… expect more homes and developments to pop up as the year progresses.

Properties range from a 2BR/1BA townhome with 952 sq ft in North Branch for $258,900… to a 3BR/3BA detached townhome with 3,546 sq ft on the 6th fairway of Golden Valley Country Club for $2,048,800.
