“It takes courage to grow up and turn out to be who you really are.” ~ e.e. cummings
NOTE: I spend my Wednesdays Unplugged from appointments. It’s my day to stay home, enjoy cooking and welcome our kids and grandkids for dinner in the evening. We end our meal with quotes from the Norwegian ‘Quote Cup’ passed on to me from my grandmother. I share a quote and a recipe here each week, along with an update and photos of what has been going on in our lives. I love trying new recipes…and love getting recipes you would like to share!
Last week we celebrated our birthday buddy grandkids born on the same date, 5 years apart. This year Khalen turned 20 and Sina turned 15. Khalen brought his letterman jacket over for Sina to try on to help figure out what size to order for her. Love the collage of the birthday duo over the years…
RECIPE OF THE WEEK
Fondue has become the most requested meal for birthday meals at our house, and with two birthdays celebrated last week it was a no-brainer. The other no-brainer was our simple fondue sauce… used to dip chips, veggies, steak, pineapple, shrimp, whatever you can think of! We used to make different kinds of dipping sauce, but this was the one that always disappeared… now known as simply the BEST fondue sauce, as evidenced by the almost empty bowl!
