Weekly real estate market update 8/2/23… housing market forecast

Our recent steamy days make me think of the ‘Dog Days of Summer’ which are officially July 3 through August 11… almost over. Maybe this is why new listings and pending sales dropped while price reductions increased. It is encouraging that coming soon listings increased, indicating there will be more listings to come.

Fewer new listings also means fewer showings. Is the heat keeping people in, like during winter cold spells? Showings are still ahead of the last two years, but slowed down this hot and steamy week as new listings slowed down.

Wondering what the rest of the year is going to look like? See the infographic below from our blog at Keeping Current Matters.
