Fix up now, Pay when you sell… RE/NEW powered by Curbio!

One of the biggest headaches for many people getting ready to sell their home is doing the updates and fixups needed to sell it for the best price, because selling as is often just isn’t good enough.

8 of every 10 buyers want move-in ready!

Most homeowners know that move-in ready homes usually sell quicker and for a higher price, but not all homeowners have the resources to do so. It isn’t just all the time spent contacting and scheduling multiple vendors/contractors to do the work… it is also finding contractors available and paying for it up front, before the house is even listed for sale.

To help address this problem, RE/MAX Results has partnered with Curbio to provide RE/NEW powered by Curbio… a ‘fix up now, pay when you sell’ solution for pre-listing home improvements. The entire process is efficient and often quicker and easier than scheduling everything on your own… and Curbio says that home sellers average a net of 26% more than going to market as-is.

What I love about it is they will take on fixes as small as deep cleaning or updating knobs all the way to entire renovations and repairs needed after inspections.

When I first met with the sellers of the home below, they needed help emptying and preparing their parents’ home for sale. It was in pretty good condition, but needed some refreshing.

The first thing they did was go through and remove things they wanted to keep or gift to family members and friends. They considered an estate sale, but were happy with their decision to call ‘Empty the Nest‘ to clear everything out.

Next step was meeting with Kelly of Rooms with Style for her recommended updates and an estimate for staging when they were ready for that step.

Now they had a punch list. They felt they could do some work themselves, had connections for some of the other things, but still needed help with big things like removing wallpaper, painting and floors.

We met with the Curbio project manager at the house to discuss their initial punch list, then decided to have them do a 3D Matterport scan and review together to come up with a full project list. The sellers were impressed with the detail they could see in the scan.

They managed to meet a fairly tight schedule for the updates, the staging made it look fabulous, and the sellers didn’t pay for the work Curbio did until closing!
