After a seemingly endless winter, dreams of living on the waterfront can loom large. Although Minnesota is known as the Land of 10,000 Lakes, in actuality we have nearly 12,000 lakes! If you dream of living on the waterfront all the time, not just on the weekends, it would be hard to find a place with more options.
With working from home now the reality for many, 50 miles may not seem as unreasonable as it once did… especially if you can continue to work from home much of the time.
In spite of a shortage of homes for sale there are currently over 250 waterfront homes for sale within 50 miles of downtown Minneapolis. They range in price from $169,900 for a condo to a luxury estate on a peninsula for $14,750,000… both on Lake Minnetonka! About 40% are under $1M, about 60% are over $1M.
