Weekly real estate market report 4/14/23 – inspections and repairs are popular again

Last week’s jump in coming soon listings became this week’s jump in new listings as other metrics dropped in this past week around Easter.

Showings increased again in response to the new listings. Easter is a date that changes each year based on the lunar cycle. You can see its effect by the moving dips in showings for the last three seasons.

Wondering what is going on with inspections this year? During the market frenzy of the last few years it became common to waive inspection if you wanted to secure the winning bid. Some of that is still going on, but according to a recent survey by Realtor.com inspections are becoming popular again. See national statistics including an average of how much sellers spend on repairs before listing in the infographic below from our blog at Keeping Current Matters.
