“Fight any instinct to be humorless, for humorlessness is the worst of all absurdities.” – Jean Cocteau
NOTE: I spend my Wednesdays Unplugged from appointments. It’s my day to stay home, enjoy cooking and welcome our kids and grandkids for dinner in the evening. We end our meal with quotes from the Norwegian ‘Quote Cup’ passed on to me from my grandmother. I share a quote and a recipe here each week, along with an update and photos of what has been going on in our lives. I love trying new recipes…and love getting recipes you would like to share!
Our family is heading to a cabin on Friday for a week’s vacation… I thought this photo shows us shedding any instinct to be humorless, getting in the mood for a relaxing week. Our daughter has her eye on her son… heading off to college and football practice after only one night at the cabin!
RECIPE OF THE WEEK
This week’s recipe is the simplest appetizer ever, but one that always disappears.
SIMPLEST APPETIZER EVER
- Divina Sour Cherry Spread, product of Greece
- Divina mini toasts from France
- Prairie Breeze cheddar cheese from Milton Farms in Iowa
That’s it… just slice a chunk of cheese, place it on a mini toast, top with a bit of sour cherry spread and pop it in your mouth.
Simplest. Appetizer. Ever.
