MSNBC’s list of the 10 best states to live is directed toward business. Their rankings of the best states for business consider factors such as workforce, infrastructure, cost of doing business, economy, technology & innovation, business friendliness, education, access to capital and cost of living.

But with the current worker shortage, some of their biggest considerations relate to Life, Health and Inclusion… important in attracting workers to places where they want to live. Factors considered include crime rates, environmental quality, health care, availability of childcare, and inclusiveness of state laws in areas like protections against discrimination and voting rights.

These 10 states ranked the highest in Life, Health and Inclusion…

  1. Vermont
  2. Maine
  3. Hawaii
  4. North Dakota
  5. Minnesota
  6. Washington
  7. Nebraska
  8. New Jersey (tie)
  9. Oregon (tie for #8)
  10. Iowa
