When they tore down the little strip of businesses on the corner across from Trader Joe’s in St. Louis Park to build a new Bridgewater Bank it was such a treat to see them leave the corner open for green space and some public art. Even better… they included space for a great restaurant in the building!
Hazelwood Food & Drink opened its St. Louis Park location about a year ago, across the street from Trader Joe’s. With the pandemic we weren’t going out to eat last year at this time, and it was the end of summer before I ate on the Hazelwood patio. I shared an order of pancakes with a client, perfect when our server brought out two plates. It was lovely having the green plaza beyond the patio rather than the street or parking lot.
Hazelwood calls their food fresh, modern comfort food and that is reflected in their menus. We stopped for Sunday brunch with friends a few weeks ago and were impressed. We all ordered something different and we all raved about our selections. But the Hazelwood Brunch must try is their Monkey Bread… croissant dough pull-apart with pecan praline sauce and powdered sugar…
perfect for sharing with friends and family!
Hazelwood Food and Drink is a wonderful addition to this walkable neighborhood near Wolf Park, the SLP rec center and Excelsior and Grand!
