I don’t need the stats to tell me that the market is picking up already, in spite of the subzero temperatures. After months of no new listings of interest, my buyers are finding multiple properties to consider. The surging coming soon listings are encouraging that more new listings are coming.
Showings are increasing, on a track close to last year.
Compared to last year, new and coming soon listings are hovering just below last year while coming soon listings are hovering above.
Buyers are already busy, scouring the market before interest rates tick up some more. The National Association of Realtors published their 40th anniversary profile of buyers and sellers, and compiled the infographic below that illustrates how buyers have changed in the 40 years from 1981 to 2021.
