Lions Tap famous hamburgers… lions and burgers and fries, OH MY!

When we moved to the Twin Cities more than 30 years ago we landed in Eden Prairie… and one of the first places people told us we had to go to was Lions Tap!

We have now been living in Golden Valley more than 20 years and hadn’t been to Lions Tap for a long time when we stopped there for a burger fix not long ago. What struck me is how they just concentrate on burgers and fries and nothing else… don’t stop here if you don’t want a burger! This allows them to keep them simple and delicious, and serve them efficiently because that is all they do. Fresh ground beef  is mixed with their own ‘secret seasoning’ and patted daily… two of the reasons for their hamburger’s famous reputation.

It’s hard to live here and not know about Lions Tap. Not only have they earned just about every reward in the metro area, but they also sponsor many youth and adult sports teams, are the #1 Sports Booster in area schools, and sponsor hundreds of organizations and events throughout the state.

Here are just a few of their local awards… and they have also been named one of the nation’s top 500 restaurants!

  • Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine: Best Hamburgers
  • Minnesota Monthly: Best Hamburger
  • Twin Cities Live: Best Hamburgers
  • CitySearch: Best Hamburger
  • Eden Prairie Magazine: Best Burger Joint

If you make your visit a destination trip, throw a few empty gallon containers in the back of your car and plan a stop at Frederick-Miller Spring less than a half mile away… where people have been getting free spring water for over 100 years!
