In this past Covid year of isolation any excuse to get outside has been welcome. Our son’s family has enjoyed Geocaching as a way to get out and explore the wealth of parks in our metro area. We joined them over the weekend at Sochaki Park in Golden Valley. This park is part of the Three Rivers Park District, with a path extending from Golden Valley Road in Golden Valley north to 36th Ave N in Robbinsdale. It adjoins Rice Lake Nature Area.
This area is rich with parks and nature areas, including massive Theodore Wirth Park on the east. Many people were out enjoying the day… including runners and walkers, bikes, families, pets.
They picked Sochaki Park for this outing because it is rich with geocache sites… supposedly 5 in this small area. We didn’t find them all when we were there but we did find some… an excuse for another visit. It was such a beautiful day we just welcomed the excuse for spending more time outdoors!
This is yet another example of what I love about living in the Twin Cities… even in the midst of the city you don’t have to go far to get a nature fix!
