Dwell recently released their 2020 Design Awards for the most inspiring projects of 2020 and they are amazing. But what really got me was The Lofthouse workspace and Airbnb that DIYers Tarah and Drew MacAlmon created… for $275k!
It would be perfect for a north woods/lake retreat… and also makes me think ADU.
What’s an ADU? An ADU is an Accessory Dwelling Unit… a self-contained dwelling on the same property as an existing single-family home containing at least a bedroom area, a kitchen area and a bathroom. They are similar to ‘granny flats’ that were common in the 1940s-1950s or ‘mother-in-law’ apartments found in the Twin Cities.
I would love living in The Lofthouse!
