“Share your smile with the world. It’s a symbol of friendship and peace.” – Clifford the Big Red Dog
NOTE: I spend my Wednesdays Unplugged from appointments. It’s my day to stay home, enjoy cooking and welcome our kids and grandkids for dinner in the evening. We end our meal with quotes from the Norwegian ‘Quote Cup’ passed on to me from my grandmother. I share a quote and a recipe here each week, along with an update and photos of what has been going on in our lives. I love trying new recipes…and love getting recipes you would like to share!
Our granddaughter was dancing and greeting everyone as Clifford The Big Red Dog after the snow a few weeks ago. Now I think of it as coming in friendship and peace to wish everyone Happy Thanksgiving! Our daughter is infected with COVID and John and I are quarantining… so far so good!
RECIPE OF THE WEEK
I shared this recipe nearly 10 years ago and it sounded really good to me to share again.
HOT CRANBERRY TEA
- 3 1/2 quarts water
- 1 package (12 ounce) cranberries
- 2 cups white sugar
- 2 oranges, juiced
- 2Â lemons, juiced
- 12 whole cloves
- 2 cinnamon sticks
Combine water and cranberries in a large pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes. Add sugar, orange juice, lemon juice, cloves and cinnamon sticks. Cover, and steep for 1 hour.
