Last month I talked about the process of selling a home during the coronavirus pandemic. At that time the sellers of the home above they owned for 56 years were busy getting their house ready to sell. It went active on the MLS last Friday morning. We had 15 minute showings throughout the day… 38 showings on Friday, 36 showings on Saturday, and had 10 showings on Sunday. Sunday night we reviewed 31 offers!!! It doesn’t close for several weeks, but sale price was significantly over list price. Both the seller and buyer were thrilled!
That same weekend I was out showing properties to buyers (with masks and gloves) and was getting notices of deadlines for highest and best offers because of multiple offers for nearly every property we saw. This week I have been having showings cancelled before we even got to see them because the sellers already accepted an offer.
This is one of the strongest seller’s markets we have ever had. Yes, the severe shortage of homes for sale makes it a great time to sell.
