The Lowry… no reservations? no problem!

We attended our first concert of the holiday season Friday night at Central Lutheran in Minneapolis for the 40th Augsburg Advent Vespers. It was a lovely concert but done at 6:30 pm and we were ready to go out to eat nearby but hadn’t made reservations. After checking numerous places for reservations to no avail, we came upon The Lowry… they don’t take reservations, but they said they had open tables when we called. Of course they had filled by the time we got there, but the wait was only 15-20 minutes and well worth it!

We hadn’t stopped there before, but knew it has been on many lists for best burger and has been on my list to try for some time. I am so glad we got the excuse to try their fabulous food!

They are known for their burgers and three members of our group chose different variations…the classic Lowry, the Lowry with oysters and a whiskey chaser, and the blue double… I heard many mmmmm’s!

I didn’t feel like a burger and ordered PESTO PAPPARDELLE (asparagus, spinach, tomatoes,
basil pesto) with salmon. It was sooo good I was glad I didn’t order a burger! The salmon was deliciously tender, and the pesto on the pasta gave it a wonderfully delicate garlic flavor. I couldn’t eat it all and the leftovers I took home were almost better the second time around. I will definitely be back!

Don’t wait as long as we did to try The Lowry… it’s a fabulous stop that doesn’t require reservations and is open daily 6:30 am to 2:00 am!
