Entry! Come On In – Entry Doors

Choosing an entrance to your home makes a statement about who you are. Your doors can be bold, inviting, hidden, it’s up to you. It can make a statement for all visitors – like your social intentions, your feeling for your guests. It can make that first impression of warmth, distinction, security, versatility, ingenuity, traditional; can make a statement of who you are.

It might be simple, like color, or elaborate with plantings, artwork, ornamentation and structural offerings.

If you are moving into a new home and neighborhood, you can blend in or stand out. Even if you’ve been in that home for a decade you can bring new life with a wonderful new entrance.

Here are a few considerations I’ve researched.

Bold – contrast with bright color against a light color

Ornamentation – add hardware for a unique, recognizable image

Ring knockers

Mystery – indirect path to the entrance door adds a little bit of intrigue

Comfort – simple white can be expressive, doors can say a lot about who you are and where you are going!

White door

History – Is it a door or a window or both? The warmth of natural wood is classic invitation. Like the three bears or the seven dwarfs.
