Don’t assume that all homes in a Twin Cities suburb will be in a school district with the same name. It is not uncommon for a school district to serve multiple cities… and for a city to be served by multiple school districts.
For example:
Edina is one of the most respected school districts in the metro area. Its borders do not include other cities, but there are some homes with an Edina address that are in the Hopkins school district.
The Hopkins school district borders look like a jigsaw puzzle piece and include some homes in: Eden Prairie, Edina, Golden Valley, Hopkins, Minnetonka, Plymouth, and St. Louis Park.
The Roseville school district includes some homes in: Roseville, Shoreview, Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada and Maplewood. AND some homes with a Roseville address are in Moundsview school district.
These are only two examples of many. Many cities have homes in several different school districts. Bottom line is, don’t assume your home will be in a particular school district because it matches the city name.
If school district is important to you, search by school district, not city.
