About 20 years ago a nice older woman came up to me at church and asked, “Do you remember me?” She knew my name as staff in that Lutheran church but I didn’t recognize her. With a twinkle in her eye she told me she was Mrs. Johnson, my kindergarten teacher many years ago at Roosevelt Elementary in Grand Forks, ND! Marlys has been a friend since then.
When she and her family decided she would move to a senior housing complex, she called me and Sharlene to help her sell her condo. As her daughter went through her things preparing for her move she found the photo above of our kindergarten class. There we are, Mrs. Johnson and me, circled in red! (We were wearing caps or scarves because of a ringworm scare.)
She got to know my fabulous Realtor wife and she closed on the sale of her condo last week. Now she’s at a senior complex not far from her old place, and we brought papers to her new home to sign before closing to make it easier for her.
It was a privilege to work with her and her daughter. She still has a great smile that disarms everyone she meets!
We love working with seniors and their families in transition… contact us for a free consultation!
