Dealing with your stuff when your moving date changes

You have likely heard the saying that “the only thing constant is change”… never more true than in housing transitions. We are currently working with a senior whose plan was to move into a new senior living complex that is currently under construction. She got a move-in date and we got ready to list her home for sale to coordinate with that date.

Change #1

The date her unit would be ready in her new home kept changing… we made plans to be flexible and list her current home after she moved into to her new place.

Change #2

She had a medical emergency that moved her to the hospital, followed by rehab.

Change #3

We listed her home for sale before moving instead of after and have a purchase agreement in place.

Change #4

Her new condition requires more care than her originally planned facility provides so she had to find a new place to live but didn’t know when she would be moving.

PROBLEM – what to do with her stuff?

Her daughter called me in a panic. She lives in a different state so has to plan things long distance. Her mother was downsizing so didn’t have much to move, but more than the daughter could handle and she didn’t know when she would be moving to her new facility.

I recommended she contact SmartBox for smaller, more portable and economical storage than the pods typically used for bigger moves… and Laurie Wrobel of Clutter 911 to help with the packing and moving.

The SmartBoxes were delivered to our client’s current home, Laurie and her crew loaded them with her stuff, and SmartBox picked them up for temporary storage. When our client  got a move-in date for her new home SmartBox dropped off the boxes and Laurie and her crew unloaded them into to her new home. Her daughter was beaming… problem solved!

Looking for someone you can rely on for help when things change? We are great problem solvers, and know just who to call for help when needed!
