It’s hard to miss the big yellow farm-like building known as Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store on Highway 169 south the the Twin Cities in Jordan, MN. I had heard about it for years but experienced it for the first time a couple weeks ago.
It is overwhelming what an extensive selection of candy they carry, including a wide selection of imported candies and chocolates.
But it is much more than that.
What I didn’t know was that it’s real name is Jim’s Apple Farm… a family business that has been operating at this location for 39 years. They have more than 10,000 trees in Jordan & Belle Plaine featuring 40+ varieties of MN grown apples & they also grow over 20 acres of squash, gourds & pumpkins. In addition to their own produce including fresh raspberries, they also sell MN Grown honey, meats, cornstalks, as well as puzzles, soda, candy, popcorn, meats & more… all reasonably priced!0
We picked up a fresh strawberry-rhubarb pie when we were there and it was fabulous! I wasn’t expecting such a delicious pie in this huge store, but it makes more sense now that I know that is really how they began… selling fresh apples and pies.
As I headed over to checkout (no plastic here, bring cash or use their ATM), I was surprised to also see a huge selections of sodas. I have since read somewhere that they have 150 varieties of root beer! Our grandkids love root beer and as I was gaping over the huge selection, a man came up and said he had gotten the best root beer he had ever tasted there. When I asked for the brand he didn’t hesitate an instant… Dang! Of course I had to get some, and our grandkids agreed it was really, really good!!!
Minnesota’s Largest Candy Store is open daily from Mother’s Day through the Sunday after Thanksgiving at 20430 Johnson Memorial Dr, Jordan, Minnesota 55352.
