One of the largest sporting events in the world is being hosted by Minnesota this week, in the town of Chaska about 25 minutes from downtown Minneapolis. Started by Samuel Ryder in 1927 for the European golfers to take on the United States golfers.
I had the privilege of attending two days of the practice rounds and what an experience it was.
Walking into the venue is majestic and awe inspiring.
A tribute to Arnold Palmer just inside the gates for people to write their sentiments is a great reminder of one of the games greatest….the King.
The grounds are immaculate…..
The players are up close and so fun to watch play……
The crowds are in typical Minnesota fashion…HUGE! We do love our sports here.
The Opening Ceremonies was the largest attendance in Ryder Cup History with 48,000. Grammy winner Aloe Blacc sang along with Minnesota's own Grammy winners Sounds of Blackness. One of The Voice's winners, Allison Porter, sang the National Anthem and brought chills on the sunny day along with the fighter jet fly over.
The big event is Friday, Saturday and Sunday September 30, October 1 and 2. Even if you are not a golf fan, this is one event you may want to turn into. It's the excitement of the Super Bowl with National Pride at stake like the Olympics.
GO TEAM USA!!
